Effects of sensorimotor training on pelvic stability and balance in runners

Abstract Introduction: Running has increased significantly in recent years due to its benefits and practicality. However, like any sport, running poses a risk of injury, leading the need for clinical intervention even practitioners quitting sport. Therefore, preventive strategies seeking minimize occurrence consequences such factors these athletes are pivotal. Objective: To investigate effects sensorimotor training protocol on balance pelvic stability runners. Methods: The study sample consisted fourteen 10-km runners both genders divided into two groups: control group (CG) (SMTG). Both groups were evaluated using single-leg stance test (static balance), Trendelenburg (pelvic stability), hop (dynamic balance). SMTG underwent 16 interventions, while CG did not receive intervention. Results: showed significant increase permanence time (p < 0.05) reduction knee valgus during impulse landing moments single only right lower limb 0.05), no difference all tests applied > 0.05). Regarding stability, there was groups. Conclusion: proposed improved static SMTG, but stability.
